Helping over 700 people during Eid-ul-Adha

Ensuring vulnerable families received Qurbani meat in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan.

The moving story of Maqsood Alam

During Eid-ul-Adha, Mother Helpage carried out its Qurbani Project in the remote and underserved region of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. This initiative aimed to support vulnerable families by distributing fresh meat, a luxury many of them rarely enjoy due to financial hardship.

Through this project, more than 100 households were reached, directly benefiting over 700 individuals. The distribution was carried out with respect and dignity, ensuring that each family received a fair share of the Qurbani meat during this blessed occasion.

One particularly moving story is that of Maqsood Alam, a father of 10 children, who lives in extreme poverty. He resides in a small, one-room house and has no regular source of income. For Maqsood and his family, meat is not a regular part of their diet — in fact, they had not eaten meat for an entire year, since the last Eid-ul-Adha. When they received their portion of the Qurbani meat this year, their joy was indescribable. Maqsood expressed deep gratitude and happiness, saying it felt like a festival had truly come to his home. His children were excited and the entire family shared a proper meal together for the first time in many months.

This project not only provided nutritional support but also brought emotional relief and a sense of inclusion to many families who often feel forgotten. For the beneficiaries, it was more than just meat — it was a reminder that they are not alone, and that compassion and care exist in their wider community.

Mother Helpage remains committed to continuing its humanitarian efforts and reaching more deserving families in the future, especially in hard-to-reach and impoverished areas like Gilgit Baltistan.
